Goes down with some of the all-time worst draft decisions in all leagues
Every scout in the league graded Bryce Young ahead of CJ Stroud in that draft class. It just goes to show that young QB's are just hit or miss and you never really know with them so it's not always wise to draft a QB in the first round unless he's a can't miss home run pick.

The learning curve is steep and most QBs cannot handle the pressure year 1 - especially when the team has a shit line and no RB to take the pressure off.

Worse - it’s a 3 year cycle MAX and rapidly becoming 2. If you’re not a solid starter by mid year 2 - plan on playing elsewhere before your contract ends as 1st rounder.

Washington a few years ago set the standard with Shuler and then dumping him to a backup role.

it's crazy u trade so many draft picks for a qb and then do not give him any weapons to throw to and an offensive line guy is in a no win situation hopefully they trade him to a new team he deserves better
The only game he has missed was in Week 3 a year ago when then-coach Frank Reich sat the rookie who had been dealing with an ankle injury. Andy Dalton passed for 361 yards and two touchdowns in a 37-27 loss to the Seattle Seahawks.

Here is what Dalton did last year in his only start. Much better than what Young did the whole year.

The Andy Dalton effect:

ATS 7.5 to 5
Total up 3 points

I agree with ATS move, but I'm betting the under here. Dalton will dink and donk all day, to keep it safe and make his guys feel like they can compete this season.

Check out Daltons one start last year, he was a lunatic. Guy will be playing as free as you can possibly be. He's not worried about losing his job.

Yes. Additionally, you can't drive a car until you get on a real road. Village roads on Sunday or closed tracks just don't make you a driver, let alone a racing driver.

NFL teams have to see if their prized freshman QB is ready to drive. 8 times out of 10 he's not. But once he plays in a real NFL game at real speed (and gets hit a few times), his learning curve doubles.

NOW he really gets it. NOW he is getting ready, knowing what to expect.

What happened is completely normal. Expect Dalton to play 3-4 games, and then the rookie to make a comeback and play a lot better.

Carolina biggest issue is Theilen.

Cannot have a 35 yr old white boy as your #1 running 7 yard outs, give young QB ZERO chance to grow & build.

Second issue is tuck & run. So many chances deep have been forgone for 4 yard gains.

Get him a new coach & dump Theilen.

I was dead wrong about him possibly improving this year. My original opinion on him was that he will be a bust. I was influenced from someone else to think he might be the real deal this year and it cost me money week 1. Next time I’ll stick to my original opinions on players lessened learned.
