Agree this is a very solid pickup for the Cubs coach

@Tanko I guess part of me was hoping the Astros would bring him back like they did Correa but I guess that ship has sailed obviously
Yeah... I did not think about his Red Sox deal only being a year. Too bad Stros didn't step up and get him. But, on the bright side, I'm a big Cubs fan as well so it worked out.

Its a great contract for him. In line with Pete Alonso and Schwarber.

Tucker will be leaving the cubs after injury plagued year and piss-poor performance. I read the Yankees may sign him since the deal with Bellinger fell through.

I would just hate to see Yankees, Dodgers, or Red Sox (all the deep pocket teams) get richer by picking him up.
Yes. They’re always the front runners though. Would love to see the Rangers open the pockets back up like they did a few years ago and make a run at a trade and long-term deal (Astros won’t obviously)

I’m sure it will take a lot of prospects to get him. Sooner Tigers trade him the more they’ll get obviously. Surprised it hasn’t happened this offseason

He's a FA after this coming season.
They better move quick.

Well that sucks. I am not a huge Red Sox fan but I really liked Bregman. Huge loss for Sox for sure.
Sounds like the Red Sox really wanted him back.

Not sure if Alex was dead-set on testing the open market or not but maybe the Red Sox should have tried to offer him a nice $$ extension during the season so no other teams would have had a shot.

Sox have a history of letting a few guys get away (Betts, Schwarber come to mind) but glad Devers is gone. Bregman was perfect replacement for him.
Yes Red Sox should have locked Bregman up long term day after they let Devers go even if that had to overpay a bit.

Can you imagine the Red Sox lineup if they’d have had Dodgers-like purse strings and signed Schwarber and Betts long term??
