There's a lot of dumb people into bitcoin; picture the average gym bro. That doesn't mean it isn't one of the greatest innovations of the last 30+ years.

Saylor's tweets are all rah rah but his interviews are great.

If you haven't read The Bitcoin Standard then you don't get it. So many people, especially the 'stock bros' (mainstream losers) are so programmed to think it's normal you have this paper currency that is worthless and backed by nothing and that we should accept 3% inflation as normal (or much higher in other countries).

Most of those clowns invest in gold. BTC is just a better version of gold. It's never going to be a day-to-day currency. It's a savings vehicle. It's like being able to hold a piece (however small) of Manhattan real estate (although with Mamdani elected that might be a bad example).

It's funny that among this subgroup of gamblers there are still haters when it single-handedly saved the offshore industry 10 years ago.
just because people disagree doesn't mean they "don't get it", or are "losers" or "clowns"... most people are waking up to the fact that fiat money, when not backed by gold or anything else, is bullshit

the reason i still like gold/silver more than btc/alt coins is pretty simple, if the shit REALLY hits the fan then anywhere in the world i will still probably be able to barter gold for food/shelter, and i probably wouldn't be able to barter a ledger entry for food/shelter

just like it was illegal to hold gold back in the 1970s, it could be illegal again, or cryptos could be declared illegal unless run by governments, or a million other things could happen (asteroid mining, artificial gold, etc) to any asset

I don't sweat BTC price changes. I'd be unhappy if it went to zero but wouldn't change much. Plus I deeply believe on long enough horizons it will continue to perform extremely well.

Govts have already tried to ban it in many ways. They've all failed, and in some cases almost went in the other direction. There have been other types of attacks on BTC, they all failed. Each failure makes it stronger, and more valuable.

If you're bartering gold for food then you're basically in a nuclear apocalypse so you're fucked anyways. What's much more likely/concerning is just more and more government control, wealth taxes, confiscations. Good luck moving substantial amounts of gold around.
