Didn't Coppola direct that film. No way would he have gone with Reynolds.
Wow. Smokey and the Bandit guy as the Godfather. Nuts.

Actually Coppola was the guy who really wanted Reynolds. It's hard to believe I know.

Also I think Burt was considered for the movie Pretty Woman opposite Julia Roberts in place of Richard Gere. Casting plays such an important role in films.

Although I loved the movie Braveheart with Mel Gibson it always troubled me that he was probably miscast. He was a 38 year old man playing William Wallace who was supposed to be in his 20s.
That being said I can't imagine anyone else in the role now as Gibson was great as actor and director.

Also on the subject of casting Philip Seymour Hoffman and William H.Macy were both considered to play Michael Scott in The Office.

Macy in Fargo was nuts. Heard he was great in Shamless (Showtime).


We lost Philip Seymour Hoffman too early. Guy was really great actor in Capote.

I just pick it up along the way if I see something interesting to me. I'm a huge film buff and I know a little about directors,writers,musical scores,etc on many films.

Same with music and acts I love . I know a little about who plays what,engineers,cover art on albums,etc. I look up who plays what instruments on each song and weird stuff like like that. Like I've said before I have been called the king of useless knowledge more than a few times.

Can you imagine him instead of Brando as the Godfather?

Or how about a comedy role?

Imagine JJ playing Jack Nicholson's character in As Good As It Gets.

When he introduces his fag neighbor to the waitress he's trying to bang.

"Carol the waitress, meet Simon the fag."
