Bottom line - HOF is for players.

Coaches should be viewed as “contributors” and not on the ballot. They have a direct effect on the outcome of every play potentially - but no matter how well drawn up the play - they rely on someone else to execute it.

Just like coaches rely on owners and GM’s to provide them with the $$ and cap space to acquire talent and picks - the coach is a contributor.

Pro Football HOF is almost as big of a joke as the basketball HOF anyway with the voting process.

Multiple rounds and every year your guaranteed 4 - but never more than 8 inductees.

So if you retire after a lean few years you have a better chance - but retire the same year as a couple of first ballot candidates and your caught in a numbers game with the leftovers.

Its simple - your either worth or your not. Should be 70% - not 75% or 80% and there should be a fan ballot after the writers have theirs giving fans the opportunity to vote if the writers miss someone.

Brady is still a part of spygate and deflategate, plus he busted his phone when the heat was closing in, in addition he was suspended 4 games for it. It only takes 10 votes to hold him back. I think the reason he took the TV gig is to rehab his sneaky image.
