Very difficult match up here.

The fighting Phillies, who were left for dead in May with a losing record and horrible manager, have been on a 5 month terror (except for a week in Sept when they cost me dearly) propelled by a remarkable game 1 9th inning comeback in the 1st round....

Is it real, is it smoke and mirrors?

Houston once again finds themselves playing in the World Series....apparently clean and scandal free and despite Dusty Baker and his world's worst post season managerial record. Dusty and his toothpick, who tied each other on the Wonderlick, send Verlander to the mound game 1 versus Wheeler.

JV comes in rested and having sported one of his most dominate years. At -160 that's heavy juice, but I like JVs match up versus Phillies lefties.

JV gets big KO numbers versus lefties who struggle w 'contact' high in the zone, this is his Forte and Schwarber and Harper's weakness. Although both had great seasons and certainly caught up to some high heat, their % of balls in play on pitches considered top 20% of zone were both in the bottom 25% of MLB lefties.

If you can neutralized those two, who are the on base & rbi engin of the Phillies, then you can beat them! After that it does not get any easier for Philly as Houston might sport the deepest pitching staff modern baseball has ever seen, with 6 legitimate MLB starters, Dusty won't need to sweat the late innings with unproven talent nor lose sleep over 'tomorrow's pitching'....it's not the greatest staff ever, but it's mighty intimidating if you can't consistently string together multiple hits.

Houston line up has been productive from top to #5 all year...
If they get any productive at bats from the bottom half or if Nola/ Wheeler cant contain that top half, this might be a 4 or 5 game series and we'll get discounted mattresses from Mack!

I'm laying the -150 to -160 tonite! Philly isn't as scrappy as Seattle (who beat up on Verlander w 1000 paper cuts).

very streaky Philly team. in both directions. throughout 2nd half, if they won 1, they prob were gonna win 3-4 in a row. Same if they lost one, they prob had more 3 game losing streaks then single 1 game loses followed by wins

No real opinion on the game. I'm a Phillies fan originally so I wouldn't mind seeing them win the World Series again but I have gotten burned in the past betting with my heart so I think I'm better off to skip at least game 1

Bobby where's the best steak in Vegas?
I've heard good things about the Golden Steer although I've never been there. If you want a good prime rib definitely go to Jerry's Nugget. The prime rib at the Four Queens is also decent if you're staying downtown. If you're staying downtown there's a good special at the Fremont Hotel for $11.99 steak and lobster

I've had GS...very nostalgic thou felt the beef was upper end but lacking that "gotta have it again" taste.

Love the DT revitalization, will check out the 4 & Freemont

Not that I’ve eaten there but heard good things about The Steak House in Circus Circus. Being at Circus is probably why I’ve never eaten there lol

Weather? The roof is closed.

Let’s see if Harper and schwarber can pepper that short left field wall. Let’s go Phillies
They can't hit the high cheese.

My post was exactly about neutralizing these two with pitches in the top 20% of the zone.

Vitty, OZ up 2.1% in current polls

Minnesota Gov race DFL only up 2 pounts! Was up 13 6 weeks ago. Horrible debates...

I’m sure we look at different polls.

Nobody in this league hits high fastball from plus pitchers but Verlander is prone to the home run ball, especially in the playoffs. If he makes mistakes, the Phillies won’t miss them.
