I did buy, but I have 1 card only that is on my list, I have only found 2 of them and gave them my offers and both declined. I waved crisp 100s at them and said lets do this but both declined. I am going back and gonna try to get it done today. Headed back to SB tomorrow night! Then back to SEA Wednesday, Tankster!!!!

I found a PSA 2, last sold a few months ago for 13,100, but these are extremely difficult to find. The highest graded ever is an 8 and sold for 750k recently. I can't afford anything more than a PS2. I offered the guy 15k cash yesterday and he turned it down. Did find an SGC 1 yesterday and offered him 9.5k, he wants 11 but turned it down. This is the one I am going after today, I might go 16k but that is it.

Thanks Tankster, I am headed there now. Hotel is packed here. God Bless you today and your plays. I pray that @DiggityDaggityDo aka the new dad and Hopster aka @maltedhopsfrenzy have a losing day today, but then recover and make up for the loss tomorrow. Sometimes you need losing days when you have transgressions towards other posters. They both were mean to me yesterday, so they must lose today.

That’s my biggest issue with shows like the National - dealers KNOW you paid a shit ton of $$ to attend and that they have all the leverage in negotiating for things you want.

No one spends $5-8k minimum for flight, hotel, early entry ticket and stands in line 4 hours only to get there - find what they want and cheap out when the seller wants an excessive amount - your 5 dimes deep already, what’s an extra couple to finish the trip off ??

Age old philosophy that’s made places like car dealerships and Disney Land ridiculously profitable. They sell you in getting you in the door - then they upsell you once you are there on spending more than you planned by convincing you just a few more dollars can increase your level of happiness and fulfillment and avoid going home thinking “I should have done that deal”.

Maybe I make it next year to Detroit - but like you said Fly, with a nicer show in my own backyard of Cleveland - probably just go there. Still plenty to see and cheaper entry with smaller crowds. I’m less of a buyer and more just browsing these days.
