I said on this board at the beginning of the season that this would be a “rebuilding” year . Expectations were low. Also low pressure coming off a national title.

Then they started playing and I think we were all pleasantly surprised, combined with how ordinary the rest of the country look

Then they finished more like what I thought they’d look like going into the season with their lack of OL depth and an inexperienced

In the big picture it’s not a bad season. Beat Michigan and won 12 games

Should be favorites next year but college football is so weird now, who really knows

All that said, Buckeyes have looked flat too often in big spots

That’s a little bit of a stretch. Nothing outlier-y about it — they just were better than everyone

But far too often they underperform

Once Hartline got the USF job after the Michigan the offense sputtered
Good point.

I don't think the QB is really any good
He's got NFL talent all over the field to throw to

I think he was over-performing for a lot of the year and the last couple games exposed some weaknesses

You need to be a little bit mobile in college at least. He has plenty of opportunities to run and also throw the ball away but he just didn’t make the right choice

He could end up being a really solid pro if he develops more. By all accounts he’s very sharp mentally and he is accurate as hell

Howard was the perfect QB for the team last year because he was physical and experienced, albeit not as accurate as Sayin
