So I call my Toyota dealer to schedule an oil change. The service department is now AI operated.
You go through a menu answering questions to indicate what service you want, what SUV it is, etc.... This is my conversation with the computer.

> The AI asks, "Would you like to schedule your appointment at 1:00 today".
I say "No. I want to bring it in on Thursday."

>AI then says, "Would you like to schedule your appointment for Tuesday at 7:00 AM?"
I say "No. I want to bring it in on Thursday."

> AI then says, "Would you like to schedule your appointment for Tuesday at 7:30 AM?"
I say "No. I want to bring it in on Thursday."

> Then it asks for Tuesday 8:00 AM.......
I say "No."

> AI then says, "Your appoint is scheduled for Wednesday at 7:00 AM. Thank you." WTH??????
It goes on to ask, "How would you rate this call on a scale of 1 to 10. Please provide feedback"

I reply, "Its a 1 and your stupid system won't let me pick......" It cut me off and said goodbye before I could finish.

I called back to try and find a human to get it scheduled for Thursday. No go. All service numbers go to AI. I even called sales department and they transferred me to Service and guess who answers.... AI.

There is no process for cancelling an appointment through AI.

JFC. This has got to be a joke.

tell me about it. our house cleaning service and landscaping services are now trying to use it and it's been a cluster

whatever you do, don't try to use it to plagiarize a gambling pick write up to convince people you have a solid pick!

Gonna be 200 million unemployed working age adults soon in 🇺🇸 if Democrats keep trying to stop Trumps tariffs & tax cuts.

Need all US jobs in USA for next generation
There's only 164M working people in the US today. So you're saying if the Big Beautiful Bill (BBB) and tariffs don't go through, every single person in the US will be unemployed? :+clueless

Besides what does his BBB and tariffs have to do with AI????

AI can never replace a human job, especially in customer service.

Can you do it online? My local dealership allows me to do it via their website

Sad when we wish we were back to dealing with offshore call center reps who can barely speak the language.

Personally - hate dealing with most Toyota/Honda service departments - hardest to work with aside from the Germans (VW/BMW/MB). Only good thing is they tend to be needed less outside of recalls and the “free” oil changes you get when buying a vehicle. I got 2 with my truck - once showed up and just asked them to give me a filter and pump 6 quarts of oil into my container as I planned on DIY’ing it - they’d get credit for the job - I’d get free materials and know it was done right and not have to spend an hour listening to the great trade in they would offer me….firm no sir and I never went back.

Whenever I got my oil change done at the dealership they never pressured me to trade anything in. Most dealerships are different though
