A Proposed Baseball Re-alignment

If and when MLB increases to 32 teams, the league will re-align to eight divisions of four teams each. Here is one proposed realignment. Its just a reporters opinion, not from MLB but it poses some interesting divisions.

They are assuming Charlotte and Nashville as expansion locations.


What do you think? AL East looks INCREDIBLY STRONG.

Yeah they have been trading away all their talent for nearly 20 years. It all started with Miguel Cabrera.

That looks very favorable for my Giants. They would proably be the best team in their division and compete with the Mariners instead of the Dodgers and Padres every year. I would welcome that scenario even though the Mariners have gotten a lot better in the last 2 years.

Agreed. I would guess if this was the alignment now the following teams would win their divison.

AL East - Coin toss (all 4 teams good - May lean Mets)
AL North - Blue Jays
AL Mid-Atl - Orioles
AL Southeast - Braves

NL Midwest - White Sox
NL Southwest - Astros
NL Pac Coast - Giants
ML West - Dodgers

Ugh! Hate it. Need to keep most teams as is within American and National League. Boring as hell to have Mets and Yankees in the same division and LA without SF in the same division.

And Charlotte and Nashville??? San Antonio and Las Vegas should be next in line, assuming Oakland doesn't keep messing up the A's stadium issue.
