for bookmaker, all bets are voided unless you made LIVE set bets for set 1 or 2

Hope you’re right - as I bet at JustBet - but I read the rules differently there.

Odd 2 shops - same ownership would have opposite rules on DQ.

BetOnline I had a live bet and confirmed a void (which it should be).

Had a withdrawal Wed at JustBet on a match I would have won be voided - curious to see how they handle this one.

BOOKMAKER......

Head to Head Matchups
In the event of a match starting but not being completed, all bets will be VOID unless (after the start of the match) a played is disqualified, in which case the player progressing to the next round or being awarded the victory will be deemed the winner for settlement purposes.

so a DQ counts as a LOSS if you bet Rublev

SET BETTING...
If the set is not completed because of a player retirement or DQ, all bets on the match will be considered void and the monies refunded.

so live set betting, VOID BET....but live match betting, you lose

I live bet Rublev. How will this be graded?

depends on shop - BetOnline voided mine.

DraftKings deemed Bublik a winner.

Rightfully - all live bets and handicaps should be void. Any set bets for 1 and 2 stand as they were completed - any bets involving 3rd set or match should void.

Just like a baseball game that gets rained out/canceled before completion. If you bet first 5 - and it’s in the 6th - bets stand as the action was completed - but anything that was not played until completion should be voided.

While the winner can be “presumed” - it’s not guaranteed - Rublev was the “presumed” winner going a few minutes before blowing that game and starting his tantrum.

FYI - just got update from JB - they voided.

Guessing BM will do the same.

Classy move if so - will be using them more. Way too many shops want to hide behind rules / this is a good chance to build goodwill with players.

186-152-7 on the year (+1439)

DUBAI finals

So they initially refunded - canceled.

They then decided to reverse and follow the posted rule.

Ultimately - it speaks to the book in my opinion. Call a bet canceled - then after a few hours pass - decided to change their position.

As mentioned BOL called this a no bet - there is no mention of “live” bets in JB/BM rules - so they can be considered “correct” in handling as a win/loss - however grading and then changing position HOURS later is just a bad look. A clerk making a mistake and correcting it within MINUTES is one thing - but HOURS is another thing to me - no different than a game protested and the protest being upheld days later.

It is what it is ultimately - I’m done with JB going forward. No dispute on the rule - but you need to apply them properly to start - and if a mistake is made on your part - acknowledge and understand your mistakes come at YOUR expense potentially.

Ok. So first jazz graded the Rublev live bet a push. Now they are grading it a loss.

Exactly - books are flip flopping on this on an ambiguous rule.

The thing with ambiguities is - they should favor the player. Book writes the rules - player either accepts or doesn’t play with them. So when there is a hole in the rule - it’s the books fault as the writer of the rule - not the players.

This stuff happens from time to time - remember years ago something similar in a Yankee game and how Scotty at BetJam handled it - ultimately winners got paid - losers got a refund. While they could have screwed the many - they didn’t because they valued players - especially those who bet huge ML faves. He knew players would remember that move and keep playing and he’d eventually reap the benefits long term. Says exactly where we are at as a industry these days.

Alcaraz won Indian wells last year
Now he's MIA, something definitely wrong with him
