I’ll be watching with my son at a sports bar eating hot wings very casually tryna “wing it” like a professional 😁
Screw that. I'd be screaming at the TV on every misssed shot or turnover.
They'd probably ask me to leave. I better not go with you to the bar JDS.

Since you now know about my largest wager of my career Tanko, why don‘t you share a brief story about your biggest wager of your life ? In fact, I invite anyone here who wants to share an interesting story about a large sum on a bet.

From back then what changed for you now to have a lower bankroll ? Where you on a good run way back when to have such a large bet ? That’s basically what’s happening for me I would never take out $10,000 out of my bank and put it on one game. My goal for this month was to 5X my bankroll. Even if this loses, I still met my goal requirements, so I’m happy about that.

I was younger making better money and not as wise to be frank about it. Gambling is a tough game JDS and the higher you go the harder you may fall. You seem like a good bettor and very smart. So Keep it going. But as you get older you may find the need to lower the bankroll. I mean 10K is a lot of coins even if playing house $$.

One of my biggest bets came early in my gambling career. Had a good playoff run and went all-in on Cowboys plus the points at 49ers early 1993 in the NFC Championship. The win put my balance at about $4k.

I asked my guy if he’d take the 4k on Dallas minus the 6.5 vs Buffalo in the SB. He said he would but I’d have to give him a touchdown. 59-17 later and I was just a year out of high school and collecting 8k.

Sure wish I’d have had the brains to invest it properly. Buy stocks and the like. Invest in Dell, etc. Still one of my biggest scores.

Good luck Jerky!

I've told this story here before. Remember it like it was today.

2011 World Series (Texas Vs StL). Game 6 $5K on Rangers.
I'm sitting in the South Point sportsbook watching the game.

  • Rangers are ahead 7-5 in bottom of the 9th with 2 outs on the Cardinals.
  • Feliz (Texas Reliever) puts two guys on base and Freese was at bat for Cardinals.
  • 1-2 count w/ two outs.
I'm walking to the counter to cash my ticket on the next pitch.
  • BUT NO... Freese hits a triple to tie the game.
  • Goes into extra innings.

  • Top of the 10th Rangers get 2 runs and lead 9-7 and we go to the bottom with Cardinals up.
  • It's 8-9 after a cardinals run and Lance Berkman was up.
  • There are 2 outs and its a 2-2 count.
I'm walking to the counter to cash my ticket on the next pitch.
  • Berkman hits a single to tie the game and we got to the 13th and Rangers end up losing.
I was crushed not because the money lost but because of the way I lost it TWICE.

Holy sheeeet that’s a terrible story on your largest wager ever. How long did it take to get back in the game bet again and forget about that draining fiasco ?

I was so confident in that game. Dallas and SF were so much better than anyone else in the league for that 4-5 year stretch. I’ve never been as confident as I was for that first Dallas-Buffalo SB since.

Had a few drinks and chilled out and moved on to the casino games.
Was in Vegas to gamble and party so I didn't let it slow me down.

Hell yeah alcohol always calms me down when sad, and it will fire me up when I see potential brewing on good betting days and I don’t even need a lot of it. Two drinks max and I’m “on my level”.
