Remember the 2004 ALCS?
Red Sox were down 3-0 in the series to the Yankees.
They won the next 4 games and went on to be world series champions with a 4-0 series with St. Louis and broke the 100 year curse of the bambino.

It's possible.
I will be honest, in 2004 I am still in College and have no idea about sports haha. But, OMG, this is good to know Tank. I'm just reading it right now and it's been imprinted in history!

baseball and hockey completely different animals.
if pitching gets hot it is mobile, regardless of the park.
if goaltending gets hot, is mobile, regardless of rink.

in basketball, home court advantage is much stronger hence no team in history has ever come back from down 0-3.

trust me Mate, these are completely different animals you are comparing.

the fewer the runs/goals/points, the more the variance in terms of "upsets" and the more one player can affect it (pitcher or goaltender).

that is why teams have come back from 0-3 in MLB and NHL but never even one single time in the NBA.

The Lakers and the Celtics are dunn like warrick.

it is OVERRRRRRRRR

Yeah. I was kind of a joke. I think the Red Sox series was the only one I could find that had overcome 3-0 deficit. There might be others but my point was just to let Genie know its possible.

Its not gonna happen for the Celtics or the Lakers.

and i think it's pretty easy to see why.

the goaltender gets hot for the team down 0-3 and he is affecting every shot coming his way and can influence the game in a way a hot shooting basketball player cannot (maybe score 40 out of the team's 100 points but he is not stopping the other team from scoring 102 points and beating his team).

same thing with a hot pitching staff or even a hot bat. only need to prevent a few runs and get a few runs and you can win 1 game, then parlay to 2 and 3 and boom 4 games. the pressure keeps mounting on the team up 3-0 then 3-1 then 3-2 with each win by the team down 0-3.

it just does not happen in basketball. the team up 3-0 is in such a dominant position and the big time pressure on the team down 0-3 just to stay in it.

Also, look up game 7s historically. i will guess the baseball road teams and hockey road teams in G7 have a much higher winning percentage than they do in basketball (G7 road teams win about 20 percent of the time).

I agree with this, with one caveat.

The Nuggets may not be as motivated to wrap it up on the road tonight but, they may be thinking about the Heat possibly winning in 4 tomorrow and getting more rest than them (might be only a day more).

I need to dig up the stats on 0-3 games in NBA semis/finals.

Chime in guys. What's your take on tonights game?
I haven't played anything yet but I kind of lean towards the Lakers taking this one tonight. I don't anticipate them quitting like the Celtics did last night. It will be a good game but I think the Lakers take this one and then the Nuggets wrap it up at home in game 5.

you will find multiple situations in the Stanley Cup 'Offs were teams came back from down 0-3.

Baseball - I think the Red Sox are just one of a few.

The play I made on the Lakers game wasn't on the side because I don't trust the Lakers even though I lean their way tonight. I went with the Under 226 because I think this game is a grind out type game and in those type games where the Lakers have won at home the game has stayed under the total.
