Amazing, Saban just owns Leach. Must have him scouted to the hilt.

Only question for me now is:
*Is the SEC positioned to get TWO teams into the playoffs?

1) I am not impressed by Clemson at all. Except for the win vs Wake.
2) The Big12 looks like they will sabotage each other. Hard to see a team really getting to 12-1.

I'd say the Geo/Tenn winner will likely earn enough goodwill that losing to Alab in the SEC Champ would keep them inside top4.

I think Tenn and Georgia can make it. The winner of that game is in. If its close game, the loser can make it too.

Seem like locks:
Georgia
Ohio St

With only two locks, I would then pick Mich if they play Ohio St close.
4th team is Tenn, even with loss to Georgia. This assumes Georgia and Ohio St subsequently win their conf title.

Could be, Tank. MICH did themselves no favors on the Non-Conf schedule. They played three games vs tomato-cans. Harbaugh even cleared the bench in 2q vs Hawaii.

And I really don't think it's a good year in the Big 10. Try to find a 3rd team that's really strong. The one game that COULD tilt things is ILL/Mich.

TBH after the top two, who do you pick?
It has to be 1 loss teams. I just can't see other conferences stepping up with decent options. 2nd team in SEC seems better than the other conferences. SEC/BIG10 seem to be cream of the the (albeit lesser) crop.

Maybe PAC-12 will have undefeated team in the Ducks. But, I don't see them as a better team than TEN or MICH

Based on Alab pre-season rating, I saw they were set up to be able to SURVIVE one loss somewhere. That's the most obvious one.

And Tenn/GEO out of the east will have built up too much goodwill, if they get to 12-0.

Ohio St a clear 3rd team. To your point, maybe it is MICH.

I have grown tired of the four-team system. I actually wish they would SPLIT the FBS into:
*Major
*Minor

Roughly 64 teams each. Give the Minor teams a chance, would be fun.

100% agree. Would love to see tiered system.
Would add more interest.
