When I lived in Michigan, near the border Schmidt and Molsen were the big names. Schmidt came in the wide mouth bottles.
Its from St Paul , Minnesota ( Founded in 1855 ). I once bought a case ( 24 bottles ) in 1983 in South Bend Indiana for $4.99 / case. It sucked , but we were cheap bastards and went back for another case the next day
