I have been through it all. Trying to be an affiliate (no one signs up). Mentioning which books my lines came from (who cares?). Pumping up places on X to followers (not one bit of interest). Posting wins I’ve had (it’s like they didn’t even happen).

Years ago, I’d even do well-read trip reports from casino visits. Now all these jerky new influencers get free money to play with? They haven’t paid the dues most of us have.

I am done doing even the littlest bit of shilling for nothing. How about some appreciation from these sites? Would a crappy $100 free play with a 5x rollover once in a while make them go under?

In my days of being paid to work for forums, they were solid relationships. I often put in extra effort beyond what was expected. When you’ve got me on a payroll, you’ll get my very best and then some (until I get pissed off).

So if any sportsbooks or casinos want me to promote them in any way, I am only working with the highest bidder from now on. The subliminal buttering up back and forth ends today.

Good points old sport

You’re right about the laughable Free plays these days

The top offshore books should be throwing every old school cash bonuses at us regularly to keep us playing with them more than legal books

Common sense is seriously lacking these days…

Betonline will give you 60 bucks a month minimum (10 bucks a week and twice monthly) and 100 bucks on your birthday.
That's at least 800 bucks a year right there minimum.

Sounds ok for smaller bettors. Would be unwilling to promote BetOnline though. Had my share of issues with them a few years back. They have enough affiliates and shills anyway.

Sadly the days of affiliate referrals are dead.

There are few “new” customers - just a bunch of losers trying to scalp bonuses wishing for the “good old days” and complaining how it’s not like it used to be.

It’s hard to bring a book a profitable customer and even harder to find a book who’s trustworthy and follows through on their promises to affiliates.

Influencers - the only players these people are delivering are the ones too new or too stupid to remember all the scandals involving forums and books back in the day. Anyone playing at a book solely because someone on Instagram says they are solid deserves what happens to them.

I trust 5 or so books with my money - all those have reputations built on decades long track records and don’t need me to sell them to the forums as they paid for those referrals years ago.

Occasionally a new operator pops up and presents a valuable opportunity. As a player take it for what it is and don’t look back. There is no such thing as long term free money in this industry.

i remember when bookmaker gave christmas bonuses. now they give nothing. all i played there and lost just to get their betpoints (which has decreased in value).

these books don't care about us real "day to day regular joe" gamblers

abort BMR
Won’t be doing that. I’m just speaking to my own discontinuing of directly shilling/promoting sports books and casinos themselves. If anyone asks for opinions/experiences, I’ll gladly give thoughts reactively.

BMR works to review these sites and accordingly has sponsors. I have no problem with any of that. Even if affiliate codes allow BMR to make money from our signups, deposits, losses, etc. then that’s all good. That all holds the forum economy fort down.
