Have you ever placed a bet adding an extra zero or two or hit max by mistake or click the over instead of the under or the opposite team. I'm sure we've all done this more than a couple of times in our lifetime of betting.
I have done this quite a few times no excuse for this you need to double check before you hit the submit button.
Yesterday I hit the max button by mistake trying to get a bet in at the last few seconds fortunately I caught it. The max allowed was 5000. I have the setting as submit bet without password first. I fixed that today.

Would you have won the max bet?

👍🍺

Done that a bunch of times in Vegas at the sportsbook doing parlays where you give them the wrong number off the board for one (usually drunk) - and you don’t realize it until the game is almost over, you look at your ticket, and realize you’ve been excited and cheering on the other team the whole time…..

Told the ticket writer $200 to win instead of $20 seconds before the race started (330 yard QH race), realized the mistake when I looked at the ticket but the race had started, paid him the $200, backed up to watch the race and saw my horse crossing the wire first (3/2 chalk).
Bet on the wrong horse (a 20/1 shot in a 6 furlong race), realized my mistake at the window, corrected it to my horse (3/1, I think) and watched five minutes later as the 20/1 shot won the race with my horse finishing second.

Bet a $24 total pick-4 ticket at my local track for the weekend’s Belmont card

I usually just put the ticket in the glove box and don’t look at it again unless I won

Happened to look at it after closing the glove box before I left the track and noticed my single in the first leg was incorrect

Walked all the way back in and had them correct it.

Of course the incorrect single at 8/1 wins as does the rest of the ticket

$2,400 mistake

I think I’ve told @rdalert447 and @str this story before. It was the Union Rags winner Belmont

If I mistakenly put in the wrong side and I notice it now I almost always let it ride. Hopefully they even out. You know ...even steven.😉
That’s definitely the old adage in horse racing “never cancel a ticket”

I especially should have listened to it then obviously and just bought another $24 ticket the correct way but if I remember that was the only $24 cash I had and I didn’t want to drive the 8 minutes to my bank for the free ATM 🙁. And didn’t want to drive back to the track 20 minutes once I got home

I hit the "Max" bet by mistake in the app one time while driving betting on Gonzaga in the playoffs a couple years ago. It put it at about $1200. I noticed my mistake and went to bet the other side but only had like $400 left. Gonzaga ended up losing the spread so I lost about $800.
