thought this comment under the highlights of the 1984 US Open were correct

The irony that this guys career accomplishments were destroyed by making a mildly racist joke at Augusta is sad.

Place didn’t allow blacks to join until 1990 and Masters didn’t even allow them to play there until 1975 - but yea, he was the racist.

RIP - great player who got scapegoated for having a personality and balls to make the joke at a place where racism more a lifestyle.
