Willie McGee’s 1985 MVP season was nothing short of exceptional. A master of both the bat and the glove, McGee led the National League in batting with a .353 average, delivering consistently clutch hits while playing stellar defense for the St. Louis Cardinals. His remarkable speed and ability to turn singles into doubles and steals into game-changers made him a true all-around threat. McGee’s MVP honor wasn’t just about his stats—it was his relentless energy and his ability to perform when the Cardinals needed it most. A season for the ages! 🏅

Stan Musial "crowns" Ted Williams with the Babe Ruth 'Sultan of Swat' Award in 1957. Williams hit .388 that year. Two great players who played for a single franchise throughout their careers

On this date in 1911, Hall of Fame OF Joe Medwick was born.

A 10-time All-Star and World Series champion, “Ducky” was a career .335 hitter across 11 seasons with St. Louis and remains the last NL player to win the Triple Crown during his 1937 MVP season (.374 AVG/31 HR/154 RBI).

The #stlcards have announced they’ve signed C Yohel Pozo to a one year deal. He was non-tendered three days ago. Pozo was a feel-good story in 2025 with his clutch hitting and his inspiring backstory; Pozo and his family overcame a stretch of homelessness after Covid left him unemployed and uninsured while his young son dealt with severe medical issues, which drained their finances.

Wow.... Just read his bio.
What a career. Hopefully, 2026 is as good as 2025 for him and he stays in the show.

Looks like the Cards traded Sonny Gray and paid the Red Sox $20 million to help with his 2026 salary

Dependable starter. Didn’t miss a game this season

It’s the 40th anniversary of Vince Coleman’s NL Rookie of the Year win! Coleman led the Majors with 110 stolen bases, to go along with 107 runs scored and a .267 batting average. He was the fourth unanimous RoY selection in National League history.

The moment no one expected arrived like a jolt: suddenly, the Cardinals are staring straight at a Jordan Walker dilemma that doesn’t have the easy answer everyone once assumed. For months, the path seemed clear—his talent too big, his ceiling too high, his future too undeniable. But something shifted. Performance swings, roster pressure, and rising competition have tangled the picture into a puzzle even the front office can’t solve with a single move. Now every option carries risk. Every decision feels heavier. And the franchise that once saw Walker as the next cornerstone is forced to ask the question out loud: what happens when a sure thing becomes complicated? One way or another, the Cardinals can’t escape this crossroads.
