I am a part of Secret Santa on two different forums for Baseball cards with guys I have been dealing with for over 20 years. It is fun and always a great anticipation. The only problem with doing it at BMR, not many people want to give each other their home addresses let alone Post Office boxes or names. Lots of unstable posters here. Haha but too bad it couldn't happen. God Bless

Secret Santa is a gift-exchange tradition where participants anonymously buy gifts for each other after randomly drawing a recipient's name from a hat or online tool. The gift-giver's identity remains a secret until the gifts are exchanged and opened, often at a party. It's a popular activity for families, friends, and coworkers, as it simplifies the gift-giving process and ensures everyone gets at least one gift.

Yes - because explaining to the Mrs that the sex toy that arrived in the mail was a “secret Santa gift” from some guy on a gambling forum should be simple.

She understands when the host at some sportsbooks send me little gifts or a bottle of very Christmas - this might be harder to explain.

Seriously - it is a good idea and it’s workable. Done the same with one of my other non sports forums. The key is just keep stuff mailable and if anyone signs up and doesn’t send - boot their ass from the forum. We have had 90% follow through the first year and 100% going forward - as anyone who reported not receiving we just asked the sender to show tracking info.

We also used to do a bottle exchange at work every year - $50 or $100 limit - you said what you drank (rum, whiskey, tequila, dealers choice) and did either $50 or $100 limit - then encouraged the gifter to buy something non mainstream. I mean who wants a bottle you can walk into any ABC and buy - show some thought and share small brands you enjoy.

My two other forums I do it at, there has neve been an issue with anyone not sending the gift. All great guys that post. The issue is here, people don't want to give their home address or post office box let along their names to send it to. That is the issue. Too many unstable posters that are too unpredictable/
I wish there was a way around it because it would be fun to do here, but impossible.

The other forums aren’t home to a number of proven stiffs either.

For the US/Canada at least - just use “hold for delivery” via FedEx/UPS. You just send it to a local FedEx or UPS Store or pickup point - yea they will know what city you are in - but no idea where you live or get mail.

Guess the real name issue could be a problem - but I’ve never had problems using a fake name and just saying I have a package for pickup and lost my ID if they pressed me (told them got picked up for a DUI and officer took my license).

My best guess at what some posters would send as their secret santa gift.

Sammy: Dime bag
Tanko: $10 Starbucks gift card
Illini: Big black double-headed dildo
JJ: Box of figs
Brock: Empty box
Bobby: 5 free Uber rides (for Las Vegas only)
Hopper: Cook book
Jerky: $5 chain
With cream filling coming out of the tip, Diggity aka the new Dad

I personally love the idea and there’s a couple ways I could see this working. Everyone who wants to participate mails their gift to a trusted moderator and the moderator mails it out to the recipient or we could do a completely digital version where nothing ever gets mailed physically.
I think digital is the answer. Like gift cards or sports book money would be cool. I think you are on to something. Lets do it completely digital, gift cards, deposit in your secret santa sports account etc.
