They are gutting the old rooms and then adding the giant guitar tower. It’s going up really quick. They basically tore down the old casino and atrium though. Kind of sad but that place was a dump and needed a refresh.

bobby, did working at a casino bring you out to vegas? if so, how did you like it?

I loved the Mirage. Stayed there so many times when I was younger. The bar outside of the Sportsbook had a video poker game with a double your money feature that you rarely saw. For a broke kid who could pop in a 20 and play for a while getting free drinks and occasionally cashing out double or triple my buy in, that was the best. The pool was the best in Vegas for a long time. Great restaurants and even a CPK for when you were hammered at 4am. All the hot hookers trolled the bars there.

When they got bought by MGM, that was the beginning of the end. The rooms went to shit, the casino rules shifted heavily to the house, and it just wasn’t fun anymore. I think at some point MGM put some money into a remodel but it just wasn’t enough. RIP
