great thread…read first post. i’ve never been to south east asia. which country would you recommend to visit for a first timer who loves great food, friendly culture, and natural beauty? i don’t mind big cities, but also want to see the countryside too

Vietnam by far, there is no comparison . No country in SEA even comes close to Vietnam. Watch this.

What is happening in Vietnam is very special and people that don't currently live here can't comprehend what is happening here. It is the most thriving economy here in this part of the world. The infrastructure is amazing, the people, food , culture, atmosphere, travel, nightlife, it is also the safest place you will ever go in your life, 1st would be China and Vietnam would be 2nd. There is nothing to worry about here. You won't find a better country in the world, let alone in SEA. Come here, you won't regret it.
