If you don’t bet the horses all the time Bob a good, inexpensive, strategy is betting a $1 exacta box every race using three horses (only $6)

A good strategy is to use the favorite OR the second favorite (but not both), AND the third or fourth favorite (but not both), and a horse in the 8-to1 to 15-to-1 range for your third leg

Easy way to have some fun and you’ll likely hit a couple without spending a lot of $$

2 - 5/1
3 - 20/1
4 - 15/1
5 - 7/2
6 - 8/1
7 - 9/2
8 - 9/1
9 -10/1
10 - 30/1

you may want to do a $1 three-horse exacta box it with numbers 5 (second favorite), 2 (fourth favorite), and 9 (longish shot but not crazy long) for a total of $6

Horse racing lolol. Biggest sucker gambling sport in human history. Save the gas money and burn the cash at home, make a bonfire. Back in the day 2-1 winner on top of 5-2 exacta would pay $20+ easy. Today with the insane takeout you’re lucky to get $14. The sport gambling wise died a long time ago. Only good for a nice enjoyable leisurely day if you have young kids.
