Is it also because more people can bet sports at home now? Before you would want to fly out and sit at a sportsbook. Now I can go to AC or CT and sit at a sportsbook after a 2-3 hour drive.
This is spot on.
I don't go to Vegas for sports betting (except March Madness).

The only reason to go is if it's a centralized place for friends/family from across the country to meet up to party. But, now you can get a 6000 sq ft AirBNB on a lake for same price as a few rooms for 4 days in Vegas so why go to Nevada?

Vegas has been jacking prices up to ridiculous levels for over 20 years but visitor volume kept surging, the big change is being able to gamble online. Horses, sports, table games, slot machines: anything can be done online. I went to South Lake Tahoe in November and couldn't believe how dead the casinos were; several casinos didn't even open the pit until 6 pm, the race and sports books were deserted all day and there wasn't much action at the slots. Hopefully, Vegas will be next, casinos will start closing, the parking and resort fees will disappear and prices will go way down.

LESS PERKS FROM HOTELS AND CASINOS TO PLAY AND STAY THERE
Many years ago, I used to be able to bargain with Vegas hotels and use the Bahamas as leverage telling them I’m trying to decide which place to visit and end up getting the Las Vegas hotels even much cheaper than what was already fairly priced

The Atlantis in the Bahamas though are a bunch of tightwads they will not budge on their high prices

Also, no cool shows anymore.
Maybe the new Sphere but that's about it.

When we were younger, the wife and I would go to vegas annually with other couples and see a lot of the shows. I'm not sure there is anything there anymore I would want to see.

Downtown Las Vegas still might have enough value for me to go back & visit.

i agree with you. vegas still has hot women. but one trip and i am good. i don't need to go back a few times unless there is a reason.

atlantic city hotels and foxwoods, unless i am comp'd, are way too high for what you get. the resort fees, various surcharges and taxes and the price of gas all factor in now. food at the casinos is higher than ever. checkouts are 5pm and you have to leave by 11am. some hotels now (resorts for one) charge you a fee if you accept your key early before 5pm.

👍🍺 - to all these replies.

Vegas was about the ‘perks’ - I’m a card carrying player’s club member to at least 20 different casinos. I used to get free $#!T all the time e-mailed to me - I haven’t seen anything in at least 3 years…..

Also, you can’t ‘park’ at Caesar’s (or anywhere else on that corner) for free anymore, it’s $20 (last time I checked) - just to PARK YOUR CAR?!?! In the back lot?!?!

F#CK THAT!!!!!

Also - on my last visit, about March, some D!CK-Head ‘bartender’ was giving me $#!T about “not playing enough” to get a F#CKIN’ draft Bud Light?!?!

Good Riddance Vegas!!!!!
