Sadly, he's still there. The last news I heard is that his counsel is requesting an interim release. So they need a 3rd country willing to take him while waiting for his case to be heard. He's 80yrs old. He might be dead before he gets his freedom.

I guess they are getting a little more lenient there and going with life in prison instead.
