But, he kind of brought that life upon himself.

I don't mean the fame from basketball. I mean his approach to issues and his comments in public. He has brought more negative attention upon himself and knew it would happen. So, his life is more what he made of it than a result of just being famous.

You can be famous and a great person without having the "bad" parts of that life thrust upon you if you choose (e.g. JJ Watts, Walter Payton, & several others).

But one thing I realized is that.. successful, rich, and famous people are not afraid to speak their minds. They are not afraid to offend someone or have the consequences of getting fired or getting attacked by fans. Life will continue for them as usual.
