Hard to say if he should be praised or criticized. not exactly sure how it was used. Is he a software engineer who used it in coding projects? If so, he should be commended for prompting and using the tool effectively. That is the future anyways from a coding perspective. Should math majors be vilified for using calculators?

I disagree with my post. Education is supposed to teach students knowledge and skills. If a student relies on ChatGPT, they are not getting a good education probably. I think AI and how to use it should be included in the curriculum, but it should not replace doing things on your own. Even for software engineers, if they don’t learn how to do it themselves, how can they validate the code that ChatGPT is producing?
