Josh Jacobs says he heard teams want to work him out. Will be 27 years old if granted parole.

In a rare bit of news on former Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Henry Ruggs, a close friend and former teammate is indicating he will attempt an NFL comeback as soon as next year.

Appearing on the Pivot podcast, former Raiders running back Josh Jacobs said he still talking to Ruggs (the two played at Alabama and with the Raiders together) and his family while he serves a prison sentence in Nevada. Jacobs said Ruggs is training and Jacobs said he has heard there may be some teams interested in working out the fast wide receiver who was a Raiders’ first-round draft pick in 2020 when he is released.

Ruggs will first be eligible to be released from prison in August, 2026 when he will be 27. Ruggs last played in the NFL in 2021.

Ruggs was sentenced to three to 10 years in prison by a judge in a Nevada state prison in a Las Vegas courtroom in 2023. The three years is based off of good behavior.

Ruggs pled guilty to one count of DUI resulting in death and one count of misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter stemming from a November, 2021 Las Vegas car crash in which Tina Tintor, 23, and her dog were killed.

Ruggs addressed the courtroom on his sentencing date, where he took full responsibility for his actions and apologized to Tintor’s family, his family, and his Raiders coaches and teammates, saying he “let them down.”

Police stated that Ruggs was driving drunk and driving at 156 m.p.h. on a Las Vegas city street in the early hours of Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2021, when he crashed into Tintor’s car, causing it to burst into flames. The Raiders released Ruggs later that day.

The Alabama product was in his second season and was a starting wide receiver at the time of his arrest. He was the No. 12 overall draft pick in 2020.

Always love a redemption story. If he is truly rehabilitated, I hope the judge gives him a shot at parole.

He is a murderer
Are all of you guys done? SO, the way the system works, if he did this shit with no alcohol in his system, just did it out of stupidity, bro wouldn't even do a day. Think about that, all of you cop lovers, lol, as if they are not committing more crimes in an 8-hour shift than even the braziest could within that time frame.
