Stump's work has never been proven by anyone to be fictional. They claimed it was without any proof.

Stump himself says that he actually didn't portray just how horrible of a human being Cobb really was. He said what he wrote was actually a sanitized version of events and that the reality was Cobb was far worse than portrayed.

What makes this guy's word any more valuable than Stump's?

Stump was actually with Cobb wasn't he? He actually spoke to the man and hung around him, right?

I take anyone that far removed from those times with a grain of salt.
