And “torpedo bats” don’t enlarge the sweet spot - just move it down about 4”.

Pitchers have learned for years how to throw inside to jam the hitter and force them into making weak contact and hit ground balls. Now however - that type of pitch is right on the sweet spot and the ball travels - what would have been a weak ground out is now a hit.

Ultimately - I think pitchers will adjust and you will actually see some guys who were fly ball pitchers before getting better - again those hanging breaking balls that before would be out of here now will be struck at the “skinny” part of the bat and energy transfer reduced - so exit velocity reduced.
