Fuckin hate banks. I just went to WD 58k 2 hrs ago from Citibank to go down to FD in NJ. The best they could is 30k cash & 28k cashier check. Told me they only had 30k available cash. Seriously doubt FD would even accept a cashiers check made out to "FanDuel" so it looks like I'm gonna have to be making a return trip tmrw if that's the case.

Banks are private institutions in the US with government oversight.

If the guy had just said 'helping a friend' he'd be fine.

The bank borrows from the federal 10x its deposits. It isn't designed to give out cash....if you have $100,000 on deposit, in theory only 10k of that would be readily available as the rest is lent out.

We are the only country in the world built on credit and leverage via fiat currency.

To meet the demands of 'no restrictions ' would put us in the stone age.

It's why banks won't do business w weed companies or lenders or atm franchise or anyone in the cash game.

That's why I laughed at dougy's post.

If I walked into a bank near me and asked for 50k they would call all the other branches in town, pool their cash, drive it over, and still not have enough. They would need an overnight delivery.

It's just not in the vaults like some think it is.
