@str and @rdalert447 i realized we’re coming up on the 10-year anniversary of one of my best and favorite horse bets of all time - $200 straight Lovely Maria-Pharoah Oaks-Derby double

Paid over $5k.

LoDuca was talking up Lovely Maria on the Oaks preview show and the more I looked at her the more I liked her too at a price.

Luckily I got the bet down as it was one of the few Oaks days I wasn’t able to take off from work. I think I got there 12 minutes to post to make the bet and watch the race

It was literally the only bet I made that weekend. Just let it ride on AP in the derby

Me and the ex believe it or not were at a wedding Derby day 2015 (also Mayweather-PacMan day) and a friend had of text me a play by play of the derby.

Love that you remember as a “10-year-anniversary.” Like a real anniversary or kids birthday. Typical gambler!!

PS- In NY, LoDuca was always rumored to be in bad gambling debt.

Not a big Habeeb fan, but this horse ran real well here last out off a two month layoff. Looked ready to strike in the stretch but hung a bit. Should be more fit tonight and gets the underrated Gavin Ashton aboard.

Second best at 20-1…..to a 40-1 runaway winner. The Turfway slump continues.

Damn buddy. All we needed was an $1 ALL-9 ex for $10 to grab that $469 exacta

Blair wins in all scenarios when he’s on. He hasn’t been “on” in about two months, so kind of expecting him to bang out a couple big ones. When he’s going good, he’s capable here, Oaklawn, Keeneland, and Churchill. Dangerous trainer who is still under the radar.

Trainer Davis started out like a house on fire, has slowed considerably over the last month. However, he just ran second last race at a nice price. Think his barn is ready to round back into form.

Was all over the place through the stretch but still won at 9-1, paying $20.92. Exotics whiffed. Knocked $177 off the figure.
