You could do or if there's someone you trust that has a high credit score you can ask them if they can add you as an authorized user on the account. You would never actually get the physical card but it would overall help your credit score
Bobby would you add Brock Landers as an authorized user if he asked nicely?

This is what I do KR.

I have a cash back rewards Discover card I use for almost all purchases and I pay it off in full at the end of each month.

I do, however, keep cash in my wallet. I usually have about 10-12 $5’s, a few $10’s and about $10 worth of $1’s for tipping.
The discover card is pretty powerful because they match your cash back. I believe it's only once for the first year when you open the account

Now that’s a great +EV idea Bobby appreciate the suggestion.
No problem. You do need to give whoever your social security number to add you but other than that there's really no risk to them because as long as they don't physically give you the card you can't do anything

First year they add it all up monthly and you get a huge chunk on your one-year account open anniversary.

After that it’s 1% all purchases other than gas, which is 2%. And they give it to you the end of every monthly statement. I have mine set up to be paid toward my balance automatically.

It really adds up

I need to work on my credit score so I can qualify for this card, seems like a no brainer.

You are my brother from another mother...

I use my credit card for damn near everything... for the flight points. I have a couple hundred thousand points on Southwest = 4 or more round flights in US. Always pay it in full every month.

Same for the cash. I carry a couple hundred in case I run into a place that doesn't take a card.
