Once JJ McCarthy went to the Vikings Payton had NO other choice at QB. I think they got a great player if Payton can start coaching. Denver can be decent.

If I were him, I'd be happily confused with 180M. Looks like he was there to mentor Pennix, in case injury hits him again this yr.

Looks like that is working out for GB though however you could make the case that maybe Love was ready earlier to play. I see Capt Kirk's point. I would be more frustrated if Penix as he may sit on the pine for 3-4 years instead of playing sooner rather than later.

That’s the thing that makes it even more questionable

Penix jr is already 2-3 years older than most QBs coming out of college

One thing is for sure though

The Falcons are much better off now than with the bums they had under center last year
