Even if you ask them to take the charge off I wonder if they would. They shouldn't be passing on that to the guests
The bottom of the receipt says they will take it off if you ask.

Restaurants should just put the cost in the price of the items and not have them singled out as a line item cost.

AND HELL YES! I WOULD SAY REMOVE IT.

I’d be embarrassed to ask for them to take it off. If you’re eating there you are not poor.
Its the principal of the issue. Like Iwin said, the restaurant owner is going to screw all these waiters out of tips because its going to piss people off. Its like a hidden application of socialism. If this is a nice restaurant, just increase your prices to cover the healthcare and move on.

Yeah I agree with both points in general.

I am happy to live in a country where is no tipping. On the credit card receipt there is not even a line for a tip.
What's crazy is tipping is a USA thing. What a terrible system to have developed and now see abused.

Even in Europe you don't tip. They consider it offensive but, then again they consider all Americans in general offensive. :lmao:

Guessing that isn't a legit Italian restaurant. Any Italian that I have ever known would be embarrassed putting that on a bill. If anybody is ever near Cleveland go down to Murray Hill (Little Italy) that meal will be twice as good, cost $100. Be respectful and put down $150 and you mine as well be Sinatra the next time you come back in.
