That's what I thought too. It doesn't seem like it would rebound like a normal basketball because of the holes in it. But I'm guessing maybe the inventors could stiffen the rubber to make up for the holes. I don't know though.

It can be 3D printed as well.

I wonder how the small holes affect the grip & feel of the ball.

It's good if used indoors but not sure if it's going to work outdoors. The dust and water in those holes are going to be an issue.
