I'll check it out sometime soon. Thank you I know I won't be going into the business though it's always interesting to learn new things. Hopefully someone else will respond to your thread besides a dummy like me.
scroll through these pages. You will see million dollar watches. Then search for Royal Oak and Overseas. You will see mine.
Slickster you are a forum brother but you have no idea what you are talking about. This industry is thriving and I’ve never lost a dime on watches. Been into higher end watches for 30 years. You are speaking on two years ?This industry, along with things like sports cards, were booming in 2021 and 22. Everyone was a watch dealer/flipper and sports card dealer/flipper.
Now when times get tough many of these guys disappear, and only reputable dealers survive.
May have misspoke. When the market was booming recently, many flooded the market as "dealers". Those same people will disappear when the market gets tight.Slickster you are a forum brother but you have no idea what you are talking about. You would need your head examined if you do business with any new watch “dealer” my gray market guys are some of the best in the business. However , I am very low priority wit them. I’m a non factor even though they do take care of me. They have guys spending hundreds of thousands to millions on a consistent basis. So when I am buying and selling 40-70k watches it’s not of any interest to them. I’ve been on waiting list for 3 years for a certain Vacheron overseas and I keep being told other people have priority.May have misspoke. Huge here. Lots of money here and Vietnamese love to show their money. I meet a group of guys once a month to talk watches. One owns a shop here. He showed me his waiting list for some watches , guys here spend a ton of $ on watches. But in Hong Kong and mainland China a lot more. I would say Asia tops America.Illini are there alot of watch dealers/shops over there?
Is it as big an industry there as in US, or bigger maybe?
Read my above posts. Yes I do. But it’s a hobby. I just like watches but the models I like and boy are as good as money in the bank. Can get rid of them any second I want. Never lost a penny.Do you buy and sell Illini?
I watch some youtube videos on the biz.
Fascinating industry.

Slickster , if you want to see an “industry”that will blow your mind away and most people would never believe it , come to Vietnam and I’ll show you a world beyond comprehension.Cool stuff Illini, I'm always impressed by people who know stuff in an industry.
JJ are you on tiktok? You really have to know what you’re doing you’re gonna get screwed. It’s really big now on TikTok, these watch dealers and all these watch Forums telegram and Discord
They make it sound so easy you can buy watches and sell them for more profit
Anybody a collector?
I wouldn't even know where to begin in watch investing.Huge here. Lots of money here and Vietnamese love to show their money. I meet a group of guys once a month to talk watches. Nothing really, 5k doesn't get you anything that is going to go up, sure they are good entry level watches but you are pretty much stuck with that price range. You will always be able to sell it and depends the model get close to what you pay for. Vacheron's Pateks and AP is where the demand is at. Not in that price range though.I wouldn't even know where to begin in watch investing.
Whats a good watch Illini in the 1k-5k range that will hold value, possibly go up, and also I could
sell or upgrade to something bigger in 3-5yrs.
