I think the league is not a fan of that process. Though not sure if this is really stated in the NBA rulebook.

I guess if that's really the rule they are stating then it makes sense

He should have tried to lay up with hitting the rim and intentionally missing

Kind of a stupid rule though because if he just flips the ball up playing around and it goes in the basket it still counts for two points even if he wasn't trying

These no defense situations in the NBA at the end of games, plus players trying to pad their stats for money is legitimately compromising the true spread results. Man, I do not like to bet on this league at all. I’m totally turned off by this bullshit at the end.

Yeah its tough I still have and watch NBA league pass though. I bet on all sports and I like to watch basketball so I still watch the NBA even though College basketball is by far my favorite of the two.
