This is John “Mushmouth” Johnson Negro gambling King of Chicago. He was a black gambling-house proprietor who made a fortune controlling the city’s policy racket and other gambling enterprises. He was well-known throughout the his gambling house to walk around his casino & cool off all the winning gamblers just by his presence alone. Some folks swore he had real “mush” powers.
