You and I always talk about these MLB managers and how they wait too long before pulling out a struggling pitcher but quick to pull one who's mowing batters down

In the top of first inning today Rays starting pitcher gave up one run and although he had a man on second and third and still got out of the ending with minor damage, the very next top of the second inning Kevin cash pulled him and replaced him after only one half inning of work

He noticed that the guy didn't have it like we always plea for, and made the move

I know you would appreciate this because we rarely see baseball GM's use common Sense these days

The Rays years ago were the first to do the “bullpen game”. I remember Sergio Romo was the starter two days in a row.

They, or I should say Joe Maddon, also was the main one who started the pulling of starters after only a few innings, and what we see as the norm today

You should have heard fans daily when all of that nonsense started back then

Wager I like it,does not make sense to me to leave a guy in when has nothing and wait til he give up 3 to 5 runs.stll at the pro am here in greensboro,boy it hot over here with the weather and the girls today

Didn’t he pull a stud pitcher in the World Series or Alcs early and it proved to be a disaster? He caught a lot of grief for it
