  • After the top, highly-rostered, starters THE BAT's favorite pitcher on this slate is Jose Quintana (16% rostered). Quintana's 2.32 ERA belies a 4.01 xFIP, but he's still a solid pitcher who draws a fantastic matchup today. The Detroit Tigers are the weakest offense in baseball (and one of the most strikeout-prone), and they take a park hit going into PNC.
  • If you need another option, Jeffrey Springs(22%) is likely your man. He's been terrific this season with a 9.4 K/9, 1.9 BB/9, and 3.13 xFIP. The matchup is fairly middling against the Cardinals, but this is an offense that is generally overrated and they take a solid park hit going into Tropicana Field.
  • The top-projecting offense of the day is the Cincinnati Reds. They're at home in baseball's No. 2 hitters park (and No. 1 for homers), Great American Ball Park, and it's one of only two games over 80 degrees. They also get to face one of the weakest pitchers in baseball in Tyler Gilbert... and most of this offense is available on your waiver wire. Even Joey Votto is somehow only 66% rostered at this point (pick him up and DO NOT DROP HIM-he'll be one of the top 10 1B the rest of the way), and it only goes down from there. Like Votto, Tommy Pham ought to be universally rostered (THE BAT projects him as the 26th best OF rest-of-season) but he's somehow only 36%. Also take a look at Brandon Drury (59%), Kyle Farmer (29%), and Mike Moustakas (10%).
  • The Arizona Diamondbacks on the opposite side of Great American project as the 3rd-best offense of the day. They get the same park and conditions, plus another weak pitcher in Graham Ashcraft. Josh Rojas(37%), Christian Walker (33%), and David Peralta (20%) and prime pickups.
  • If you're looking for some freely available speed, look no further than Jarren Duran(1%). He's almost universally available, has been hitting leadoff for Boston since his call-up, and draws a terrific stolen baseball matchup. Reid Detmers is one of the easier pitchers to steal on, and Max Stassi is one of the easier catchers.

To read this guy’s take on Reds and D’Backs looks like the over is a stone cold lead pipe lock. The over is currently 10
