Real talk here. Keeping the mental right is important. Trading can be taxing on you both physically and really taxing mentally.

I try to decompress a bit at the end of each day where I am analyzing in the lab and it leads to action on the trading desk. I bounce around a bit in my office. Put a concert or music on the top TV, full screen it, turned the lights down, and just stay in the moment for a while.

You have to decompress, doing this everyday for as long as I have, trust me, you have to take care of your head first, have to keep straight and not get overwhelmed. Some Saturdays I'm at the desk before 9 am and trading and working until after 11 pm; and that's all after only a bit of sleep because of all the work in the lab late Friday night into Saturday morning.

Playing with money like this really is playing with emotions. It's easy to get hijacked. I tell people, and probably wrote it already in this thread, trading is 1% skill and 99% mental.

You have to be on your game for that 99% to come through.

You have to take care of the mental.

Keys to successful trading is keeping hydrated and a well balanced diet daily.

Most of us don’t have the mental game to be successful

It's so critical and definitely what weeds out the traders.

It's not bad strategy, or no strategy, it's the mental aspect of dealing with all of it that gets them.

I've probably seen more winning streaks take out bettors than I have losing streaks. I know in giving people plays, the winning we streaks we go on are the most dangerous. They get overconfident and bet too much when the eventual losers come.

Over and over again I've seen it.

It's one of the keys for sure. I need to get back into the gym.

A few of those recent Saturdays required endurance.
Do you know your testosterone levels? High levels also make for better traders too.

Kinda like Iowa St here, but something is off.

Kinda, but something is off.

I think we stay on the sidelines and enjoy the day's winnings.

I also play the ukelele to decompress.

This song has lyrics written by @jjgold and music and arrangement by KVB. Performed by KVB...

Tennis probably has the most volatility

Man, ain't that the truth.

Lines overreact to breaking serve and a small one or two game lead. That's what I keep seeing.

Not too comfortable in that market though, at least pre game. Probably something best hit early in the game, like I did with that Total tonight.

Take advantage of those early overreactions.
