Love this guy . Always making smart moves. Vuckevic coming to town. He gets rid of the deadwood. Isaiah Thomas , Robert Williams, Marcus Smart, Grant Williams ,Porzingis, all guys when they were on the downswing. Brought in Derek White, Holiday at the right time to win the championship.
Red Auerbach would be proud. Ainge and M. L. Carr were not really very good GMs.

To me the only team that has a chance to beat them is the Spurs. I just think OKC are in a class of their own. I know they've looked a bit vulnerable in some of these games but it's a long season and I think they just let down occasionally.

Yeah Vuc is a hell of a pickup. I wanted my Warriors to get him last season but I guess they're too busy hoarding young players that aren't helping them much. Back to the C's I think they have a great chance to make the Finals and that was even before they made this move. Vucevic is an all star and imo a better player than Porzingis was for the Celtics because at least he's available most of the time which you can't say for Porzingis.

Yes Porzingis didnt really pan out to what they had hoped for sure. He did have an impact enough to help them in their championship year though. He just has never really been a full time player with his health issues and now even worse with this chronic illness it seems.
Yup watch out league they may be a sleeper.

I figured that maybe. My answer would probably be yes to that though remember I was around in the 70's when they had a few championships with Dave Cowens,Jo Jo White,Havlicek, ,Paul Silas,Don Nelson,etc. That team was not too shabby either.

I don't remember the 60's teams much with Cousy and Russell as to be honest I didnt follow NBA much then though I'm sure I watched a few games occasionally.
I wouldn't say 86 was necessarily my favorite year as I loved them the minute Larry got there all through his career but with my hazy memory you are probably right.

He was a good coach but was smart to move up to general manager or whatever his title is.where he is great. It was time as players were tuning him out. I don't know how any coach can manage these primadonna players these days that make tons more money than them.

I was actually a fan of the Showtime Lakers during this era but over the years watching all the Lakers/Celtics documentaries and Bill Walton and Bird docs I’ve really come to love and appreciate the beautiful stile of basketball the 1986 Celtics played.
