You still see some 20+ spreads - but once you get into conference play - those dry up quickly and are absolute square plays. Never wise laying 20+ right now - no incentive to “blow out” inferior competition for faves -you blow them out in Jan/Feb - teams remember that shit come March at tourney time when you play them in those first/2nd round games and use it as fuel to the fire.

Right now is the time to remember “rankings mean nothing” - too many schools have a ranking that reflects only their W-L number - not their talent level or competition played. Every year you have massive turnover on teams in college hoops - it’s not like these guys have played together for 2-3 years like in the past. Your not going to find “chemistry” until about 10-15 games into the season at best - a lot of “good” teams become “ranked” teams by upsetting teams with a high ranking at the time - especially when the dog is the home team. Never underestimate the home court advantage for some of these teams and if it looks way too simple - it probably is.

A lot of conferences out there with highly ranked teams who shouldn’t be - and a few teams just outside of the rankings ready to make their move. Then you have Big 10 which has such a small margin of separation between its top 6-8 teams. The days of dynasty’s are over - we will never see a team dominate like those late 80s UNLV teams or Kentucky, UNC or UCLA in their peak years.
