A lot of times total yards means you’re playing catch up

A lot of the teams ahead running the ball grinding out time and first downs

You are right and that is the hardest thing to handicap out of anything that we decide on.

There are definitely better predictors of score than yards.

For example, yards per pass attempt a much better metric.

Might self destruct this post, but I don't think that knowledge is too esoteric so I'll probably leave it up.
