Their old shit is great, but rappers in their 40’s something just ain’t the same.

Absolutely agree - same shit that rock has been doing a few decades now.

It’s absolute bullshit for example we have “new” music from the Beatles winning Grammy this year - well actually just shows exactly what Grammys are about ($$) rather than what they should be (music). How many Grammies did the Beatles win before Abbey Road (0 for the record - gave one after they broke up and then many more later).

In a way good on them for sticking around and being able to put stuff out - but the fans need to stop expecting it to be comparable to what they were in their peak 25 years ago.

Some guys do it for themselves - others to cash in. Look at Led Zeppelin as a great example - on one hand you have Plant going out doing stuff in Austin and Nashville - doesn’t care if he sells a thousand copies - and sounds nothing like the power rock that Zeppelin was - he just enjoys what he’s doing. Then you have Page - endorsing a bunch of Chinese made amps and once again lending his name to another run of “signature” guitars for a bag full of cash. At least he’s gotten a little more age appropriate with his ladies these days - he’s dating a 35 year old. Never thought there would be a day Bill Belichick was dating someone younger than Jimmy Page.

Yeah we live in a strange world these days, I guess these artist still need extra income to circumvent their lifestyle’s or chasing extra gigs because of other bad investments. I can imagine they’re not just doing for the love of it besides guys like Robert Plant which is kinda rare I would think. At the end of the day it’s not cheap to live in our America so I get it.

Tanko imagined he might sound “hip“ to mention Wu-tang clan in his middle age.
LMAO.... I actually listened to them when I was younger. Like I said, they faded from my playlist long ago but, I think it would be cool if they came out with something good. I'm anxious to see what is sounds like.

Also, I thought for sure this topic would bring you out since you have to have listened to them. Am I right.

I bet you have some Conway Twitty (or something similar) on your playlist don't you JDS. ;)

Yes I could vibe to them even now from their old studio sessions, but to hear them live & overweight, slower flow with less energy no thank you that’s not how I want to remember them lol.
