The gambling regulator of Malta has taken action against operator World Services Limited, revoking its gambling license with immediate effect.
World Services Limited, which held licences to provide both fixed odds and casino gambling services has had both licences revoked with immediate effect by the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) making it the fourth operator in the last two weeks to be sanctioned by the MGA.
According to the terms of the suspension, World Services Limited, which has a registered address at Amery Court, Sliema, has been ordered to suspend all gambling operations on its previously registered sites. The company has also been ordered to display a notice on all of its gaming websites announcing the suspension to all customers and visitors.
The company operated a total of twenty sites under its MGA licences, including Europacasino, 365Black, Flasbet7, Riobet21 and Bet4Game, but has been instructed to remove any reference to the MGA from all of its main sites along with affiliated or linked sites.
The suspension of the World Services licence follows action taken against three other gambling industry operators last month. Games developer Morpheus Games, betting company World-of-bets EU Limited and German online sportsbook operator Betixx Limited all had their licences suspended by the MGA between February 12 and February 18, with no time limit put on the suspension.
As with the earlier action in February, the MGA has refused to provide any reasons for the suspension of World Services Limited’s licence, pending an ongoing investigation into undisclosed matters. But there has been an increase in the number of licence suspensions and calculations in recent months, following the passage of new gambling legislation through the Malta parliament last summer, which gave the MGA greater regulatory and supervisory powers to crack down on rogue operators.
Following the suspension, the MGA has directed players who have outstanding payments or unresolved issues with any of the sites operated by World Services to contact the Authority directly, providing details and full personal identification.
