Most high priced players dog it and do not play as hard until it means something (e.g. KD, AD, Lebron). They rest up to make sure they get through the season. The worst is James Harden. He doesn't even come back on D sometimes. Then you have other, lower paid, players that are full tilt 100% of the time (e.g. Julian Edelman WR Pats, PJ Tucker - Miami Heat).
There aren't any players that come to mind that are a in the league of Pete Rose or Cal Ripken. They were the hardest playing players of them all.
More money = more talent but they don't play hard all the time.
