No ties yet this year. We know Overtime rules are tailor-made to produce Ties. I'll say that we get a few games that threaten to finish as Ties.

Some candidates:
*Cle/Bal. Two defenses that rate 1/2 in many DEF categories. Neither team will want to make a mistake.

*SF/JAX. Two playoff-caliber teams. JAX on momentum, Niners looking to bounceback off 3 losses.

*Det/CHARGERS. Chargers seem to play close games at a high rate. Chargers too talented to get blown out.

Is there a book that posts a line on "NFL tie-game" somewhere Chucky?

It’s kind of like Bacarrat. You will definitely get a tie in every show.

Howrver if you chase it you will lose money.

There will be a tie one week but chasing it will kill you.

PI, I think people missed the point of my post. I wasn't saying that people should BET on the Tie.

I'm saying that Ties impact the Spread market. If you study the history of the NFL:
1) Madden had SEVEN ties in a 10-year coaching career.
...That's back when there was no Overtime, except for playoff games.

2) Enter the Sudden Death overtime rule in 1974.
...First score wins. Unlikely to play 15 minutes without a score.

3) In 2017, NFL clubs approved shortening overtime in the regular season to 10 minutes from 15. The rule change was aimed at improving player safety.

In 2022, NFL clubs approved a rule that allows both teams to possess the ball in overtime in the postseason.
...The current overtime rules open the door to 3/3...and third possession with little time remaining. Third possession could be a punt and effectively burn off the clock.

What are the odds for a tie today Chucky any idea ?

Yes, Nevada, New Jersey, and many other books will offer the tie proposition.

They pay around 60-1 odds, but should be paying closer to 400-1 odds, lol.

In the 2021-22 season there was a huge position on the tie in the Week 18 Sunday night game. During that day's games, there were upsets by JAX and Pitt and it resulted in a scenario where the Chargers and Raiders would both make the playoffs with a tie on Sunday night.

Borgata in AC, NJ had 50-1 odds for the tie bet down to 11-1. Not sure the NFL betting world had ever seen anything like it.

Books like PointsBet and DK were revealing a huge liability due to the very, very popular two pick parlay of JAX moneyline and Chargers-Raiders tie.

This was essentially a correlated parlay.

The game went to OVERTIME with Raiders winning 35-32.
