i'm a bit salty cause on saturday, we had UFC 280 and i put my money on tj dillashaw to beat Aljo. honestly, i already wasn't a big fan of dillashaw, and i lost even more respect because now we are seeing he didn't come forward and tell the UFC or anyone about his injury prior to his bout.

he blew out his shoulder at the end of april and dislocated it a solid 20 times during training camp. during his fight with aljo, that shoulder was acting up which resulted in a round 2 ko loss for him.

dillashaw apologized to the division, but dude a solid amount of people lost money cause of him not sharing this info. so why wouldn't he share that info

I know it sucks from a betting standpoint Le

But if we toss that part side, true competitors are lacking these days In sports, where they don't we want to play with a splinter in their finger

He probably also didn't want to use it as an excuse or hear from the opponent's side that he was ducking the fight

I know this doesn't help & sorry for your loss ☹️

it's all good wager! i'm just lettin it out lol

it's not an excuse when fighters are really supposed to report their injuries. also makes me think back on how dillashaw used performance enhancing drugs, dont want to say theyre related but

Most pro atheletes want to compete and will shake off injuries or try to hide them to play. I think it's more likely to occur in team sports where players don't want to let teammates down (football, basketball, baseball).

The difference is that in those sports, its usually readily apparent if they can overcome the injury (maybe with the exception of concussions). In individual sports, an injury is everything. It directly impacts the outcome without question.

An athlete hiding an injury from their team in a major sport would likely violate parts of their contract. not sure how its addressed in UFC.

I can see NFL players hiding concussions more frequently going forward

Eventually there's going to be 2 issues w the new CBA.

1- guaranteed money is going to go down due to concussions & protocol

2- there will be a limit on amount of concussions or games missed allowed in a career(i.e. forced retirement)

So look for less transparency in that from players on the 1st contracts

Wow. If #2 is really implemented, that would be huge impact.
You'd be 100% correct they will try to hide concussions if it comes into the contract.

I've commented on this before, and it's annoying as hell.

I bet Sterling ITD, luckily, but that's not the point.

The UFC loves to bombard us with DraftKings ads, odds, shilling, etc... please bet! But we're not going to reveal injuries or have any transparency at all!

Happened with Zombie, Ngannou, and Dillashaw, as far as some higher profile fights.

It's BS.

it's such bs

this time with dillashaw, i dont think it was the UFC's fault. dana didn't know and said what can they do if he didn't speak up? he looked healthy so they didn't suspect anything

tj dilly is just a little shady imo

I get that side of it. Maybe requiring them to speak up about it? Penalty if not revealed?

It's amazing how many cameras seem to be around for filming training, montages, all that good stuff. But no one has a clue someone's hurt and/or hiding injury?
